Helen responded wonderfully to our brief of creating a garden that would soften our existing terraced, bricked space, while being low maintenance and robust. Helen was thoughtful, directive and pragmatic in her approach, which we loved. We felt comfortable the whole way through the process. We absolutely love the results, and now the garden is 18 months in, Helen’s design keeps impressing us. The level of thought that has gone into how the design works throughout the seasons and supports our city wildlife, particularly the bees, is very apparent. We couldn’t recommend Helen highly enough for being able to translate our needs into a beautiful garden design that we can enjoy watching grow and change before our eyes. We would never have been able to achieve these results without her help and feel very privileged to have worked with Helen.

Helen helped us transform an overgrown and scruffy garden into a really lovely place to relax in. I am delighted with Helen Birch’s makeover of my garden. She took a very individual approach, listening to what I wanted, not one size fits all like some other garden designers I have encountered. I found her enthusiasm and creativity inspiring. And the biggest testament to her work is that I now spend much more time in my garden than before.

Helen did a fantastic job. Her attention to detail was extraordinary and she is absolutely hands on from beginning to the end. She is skilled at translating her vision into reality. In fact we were more pleased with the end result than we expected. It was a very complex job necessitating a radical overhaul. She was happy to adapt to our needs and really understood the brief from the start. Her plans were meticulous and well thought out. Plus, she is a very nice person to deal with.

Helen delivered a wonderful design for our garden. She really understood the site and the impact of removing existing trees and shrubs on light levels. I always thought we had a shady garden because it was north-facing. Not so! The scheme she composed took on board our wishes and added a designer’s flourish that we would never have thought of. She was on site regularly and kept the landscapers on track with the vision. The result is a garden we’ve rarely been out of since it was finished!
